What I have to say about Willie Brown…
I met Willie Brown while representing Trump’s hotel and casino resorts when Trump was considering a development agreement in the Bay area.
Willie Brown, the former all-powerful Speaker of the California State Assembly and Mayor of San Francisco, is a friend of mine.
I met Willie Brown while representing Trump’s hotels and casino resorts, when Trump was considering a development agreement with a federally recognized Native American tribe who had land and casino rights in the Bay Area.
I also met former California Governor and Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown, son of Edmund Gerald “Pat” Brown, who defeated my mentor, former Vice President Richard Nixon in the 1962 California Governor’s race.
Jerry Brown had a libertarian streak and an ability to think outside the box. I liked him.
Willie Brown and I bonded despite our political differences because of our mutual sartorial interests.
In fact, I named Willie Brown on my International Best Dressed List twice before awarding him the lifetime achievement award on the 2011 list, writing:
Willie Brown – From his hand-crafted Brioni suits to his extensive collection of hats, the former California Assembly Speaker could be the best dressed man in America. While most men should avoid brown as a suiting color (Philadelphia Brahmin Biddle was once asked why he had over 200 identical bespoke blue suits. “Because brown looks like shit,” he replied) Willie brown pulls it off in both double-breasted and three piece vested models. As Mayor Brown sometimes changed clothes as many as four times a day for his various public ceremonies. A master of color-coordination, Brown’s shoes, suit, shirt, necktie, hose and chapeau always complement each other.
Willie is a true gentleman and great dinner companion.
He also was a devoted public servant, and, while my politics are not his, I do respect some of the things he did to help Californians.

During this campaign, I may offer some critiques of Vice President Kamala Harris, who, at this juncture, appears to be the presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party in a process devoid of any democracy at all.
Kamala Harris was chosen for the presidential nomination by a clique of Democrat Party power brokers led by Barack Obama.
By now it is clear that while Obama has grave reservations about Kamala’s ability to win, and I assume was unsuccessful in convincing his wife, Michelle, to succumb to a draft effort which Obama was preparing to go out and engineer.
Obama has not only endorsed Harris (in what certainly sounds like an AI-created call), but has now essentially seized control of her campaign.

I will not, however, discuss the relationship between Willie Brown and Kamala Harris beyond noting that he was a political patron of hers.
I will say nothing further about the relationship, although based on what I’ve read, Willie Brown himself has said everything that needs to be said.

Willie Brown and I shared the same haberdasher. I too liked him very much though as you stated our political leanings were opposed. Mr. Brown is an infectious personality and very likeable. The former mayor introduced us back in the early 1980s. I am happy that he is still with us!!
