President Trump needs to do this now - before MN gets more out of control

D&R’s Gma's avatar

Excellent write up! We cant break immigration laws in other countries why would anyone think breaking our immigration laws is ok here. I support the deportations and shame on Minnesota’s inflammatory leadership.

I suggest that we accept Alberta into the US, where they prefer to be, and let Minnesota become a province in Canada. A win-win scenario and we don't have to change the flag.

You should be deported, or in the unlikely case that you’re a citizen of the USA and subject to Our Constitution, should be considered the “enemy of the state” that clearly you are.

America has been out of control since about 2015/2016 with the Antifa then blacl/commie racist BLM riots....and the Occupy before that.

And so called local "Police" everywhere side with these anti-American movement(s)... it's all one movement really.

Dude, your mom called and said you're off your meds again. She's calling the cops for a welfare check right now...

Well said, Roger. It's time we had a president that will stand up to lawlessness.

There is one major difference between what is happening in Minneapolis and other demonstrations. The government with their ICE program with their face covering masks and automatic weapons and brutality and arresting individuals without recourse to council should be condemned.

DW's avatar

Immigration law says if you are in the country illegally, you are deported. You don’t have any rights, you don’t have council, because you’re not a US citizen! Donald Trump is following the law and you need to understand that! You’re welcome to come in the front door not the back door. This situation goes deep and far into drugs, money and national security. So all these people judging on emotion go cry in a corner.

Marge's avatar

Richard, the masks are to protect the ICE agents from doxxing and the weapons are for ICE agents to protect themselves from the criminals they have been assigned to arrest and deport in addition to protecting themselves from the violent protestors who have shown themselves to be more than destructive, but life-threatening. Those illegal aliens arrested have warrants issued and are not privy to rights that US citizens have been given

You make the statement "If the rule of law is to mean anything it must be enforced everywhere," which is a true statement, and yet the President himself continues to ignore the constitution by engaging in wars without a Declaration of War from the Congress as required by the "Supreme Law of the Law." Art. IV, §2. You can't have it both ways. https://open.substack.com/pub/madamepublius/p/unprecedented-violence?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

What war has the President declared?

Madame Publius's avatar

Read my article that you can access with the link I provided, if you truly want to know the answer.

Marge's avatar

I don't want to read a lengthy article. I want to know what you know

Madame Publius's avatar

As a constitutional attorney in my 70's, who has been studying the lengthy writings of the Framers my entire adult life with an emphasis on The Federalist Papers, it would be quite difficult to know what I know without reading lengthy articles. Besides, I've been in these discussions before and few ever truly want to know. They just want to argue.

Marge's avatar

Madame, Your credentials are impressive but I cannot argue with you unless I know what you are purporting. I truly want to know what you know about your claim, "the President himself continues to ignore the constitution by engaging in wars without a Declaration of War from the Congress." It would seem to be a simple task for a constitutional attorney in their 70s

Here's a quote from my article "Thomas Jefferson called out King George’s “usurpations” as nothing but “tyranny.” These acts of usurpation, he explained, included King George’s “transporting large Armies” at will “to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny” around the globe.

Trump has been doing the exact same things that Jefferson called out King George for being a tyrant.

Jay gives us the definition of war in The Federalist Papers. He says that there are “real” and “pretended” causes of war. Real or “just causes of war,” he explains, “arise either from violation of treaties or from direct violence.” (Jay, The Federalist Papers, Ltr. 3, ¶¶5-6) Bombing another country is without question “direct violence.” No matter what euphemism the Trump team uses to describe his actions certain countries, they have all been, without a doubt, “direct violence.” Bombing Iran, in what even he called the "12 day war", bombing and invading Venezuela and killing hundreds of people, bombing areas in Somalia, etc., these were all direct acts of violence and according to the Framers was clearly an act of war.

Mark Parrish's avatar

Can't you simply name a war and provide the link to substantiate? We'd all love to know who we are at war with. Just because there is an "article" doesn't mean any of it is true. I've also never heard anyone clarify any of the 34 felonies Trump is supposedly guilty of. Maybe you could enlighten us there as well.

Madame Publius's avatar

I never mentioned a thing about 34 felonies. I'm a constitutionalist. I wrote a similar article calling out Barry when he illegally occupied the White House so you can stop trying to put me in your uneducated, uninformed paradigm.

Calm down, missy; you're getting hysterical. Ad hominem attacks indicate you have lost the ability to argue your points rationally.
