The permanent political class always says the same thing: just one more emergency power, just one more reauthorization, just one more secret tool for our protection. Then the exception becomes the system. FISA was sold as a shield against abuse and became a sword for the surveillance bureaucracy. Conservatives saw what happened to Trump. Civil libertarians saw what happened to activists and journalists. Ordinary Americans should understand what happens next if Congress keeps rubber-stamping this machinery. Warrantless backdoor searches of Americans must end. If the government wants your communications, get a warrant. The Constitution is not optional paperwork.

I know there were some Senators who publicly proclaimed that if President Trump kept Bill Pulte as the nominee for DNI, they would allow the FISA Section 702 to expire without re-authorization. I wish President Trump would have pushed them to the brink and kept Pulte's nomination active until after that expiration. Unfortunately, it didn't happen that way.

Interesting article.

1) Same issue with now requiring current or previous spouse on passport application. 100% illegal, can't be enforced, but builds a database for sale to META and Bibi Netanyahu, and others. Also, allows for backdoor searches in breach of 4th Amendment, functioning as a writ of assistance.

2) Although the original idea sounded good, as Roger asserts, it is catching people like Trump in cahoots with foreign adversary Bibi Netanyahu and other Zionist criminals. Trump doesn't want this used against him or any member of his staff or executive branch that are subverting EU, Middle-East, or USA for the greater glory of Israel.
