The first to arrive were the cameras

Installed to protect both you and me

In places where we weren't that threatened

And yet the people didn't see

What followed were traffic restrictions

To keep the roads quiet and clean

The math didn't add up, or the science

But still the people didn't see

Next came the 15 minute neighborhoods

Make our lives easier, decreed

To some, it seemed like restrictions

But still the people didn't see

Then came the Digital ID

So convenient, easy and free!

Your life in one chip on a mainframe

And still the people didn't see

The cars they sold were electric

All wired to the government PC

They switched off the driving on Sundays

Yet still the people didn't see

The banks moved their money to digital

The government banned cash the next week

The ability to fly was restricted

Yet still the people didn't see

They linked up your money and profile

To the ID on the government PC

Connected it to social media

Yet still the people didn't see

Then came a new cure, a new virus

Safe and Effective, and free

They linked these jabs to your profile

And connected the government PC

When the people were locked up in cities

Policed by their digital ID

Unable to visit their loved ones

Now finally the people can see

Restricted and tracked with no money,

To go further a permit you'll need

Contained in your digital city

Oh why did the people not see?!

These steps they sold us as progress

Never looked to be quite what they seemed

If you don't ask the questions and protest

Then your children will never know FREE.

This the slippery slope to Constant surveillance under ruthless control! The democRAts dream…

To quote directly from Roger above :

"What began as a quiet expansion has now triggered a widespread and growing backlash. That backlash is far from irrational. It is the natural response of free people who recognize a fundamental threat to their privacy rights when they see one."

Roger gets at the core of the issue ! Especially as we ( real Americans ) celebrate our 250th 'Birthday'.. and especially the principles and values that were born on that birthday.

The issue is not whether Flock cameras can solve crimes. Of course they can. The issue is whether the state may build a suspicionless travel ledger on every citizen and search it later. No. Public roads do not mean public lives. If police want to know where a suspect’s car has been, get a warrant. If prosecutors need the data, make the showing. The Bill of Rights is the regulation. The warrant requirement preserves both law enforcement and liberty. Without it, license-plate readers become general warrants on utility poles — perfect tools for managed decline and political control.

Excellent Richard. Also just because a camera catches one's car driving in a particular road doesn't mean it was the OWNER driving the car. I know this from personal experience.

Schroedinger's Ferret's avatar

Who is driving the car is immaterial. The only relevance is who the car belongs to. Flock cameras only record the rear license plate.

Don Ameeche's avatar

Uh No ... it's not irrelevant at all. Irrelevant to who exactly ? The Surveillance State ?

Great article sir, very thorough. Thank you for posting this. These monitoring systems are in nearly every metro area in the country, red state and blue state alike. Conservatives should be strongly against all forms of general surveillance, but unfortunately most accept it as part of the claimed need for "better policing" or "tracking illegals" or some other quasi-believable excuse.

For those interested in seeing how bad it really is in each local area, check the DeFlock website: https://deflock.org/

This website will show where all known surveillance systems are located. There are several other systems besides Flock in operation, so watch for all of them. These are part of the Smart Cities initiatives, which goes along with the "Fifteen Minute Cities" and other globalist plans to restrict and control everyone. Spread the word.

Flock cameras record activity on a public street. It is well settled law that individuals have no right to privacy when they are on a public street. If the cameras are banned, then we should also ban everyone's Ring cameras because they also record activity on public streets. The problem I have is not the use by the police to investigate crime, but the Flock corporation selling the information for profit to data centers and advertisers.

Tell me why any cameras help us?...

Don Ameeche's avatar

Spoken like a true Communist ... in support of the State and their so called "settled" "law" that there is no privacy in "public"..... ( ignoring that the individual (s) are ALSO members of that 'public'). And against the Corporation a cough-cough Private entity.

One must read dos Capital, it's all there!...

YES, Indeed. Das Capital should be studied by ALL who love Freedom, virtue and Western values. Because within Marx's book is the recipe for the complete unraveling of Western Culture.

It’s definitely a doxing mechanism for our government. Where’s that data stored? In some third world country….Due process takes forever, trampling on our constitutional rights.

Everyone's avatar

Damn. A lot hate on flock cams lately. I think it’s warranted.

I have a different take on this. I believe the bill of rights, specifically, Article IV in this case, was to protect the citizens from warrantless search and seizures in private homes by the federal government. Article X of the amendments, subsequently, states powers not given to the United States are reserved to the states or the people, therefore the states can regulate what goes on in the public domain, and in that domain there is no right of privacy. State and municipal regulations are instituted to maintain law and order. Public right of ways have set speed limits and direction for safety and efficiency. One gets a drivers license issued in the county of residence. One pays taxes and registration to use the license and registered vehicle to traverse public roadways but said documents do not give one license to violate the laws of the road. If more tickets were issued as a result of cameras, just maybe our insurance rates would lower because those not caring about law and order would have their driving privileges removed.

The Habit restaurant owned by Yumi brands owners of KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell in CA is going no cash… No counting cash for drawers, from drawers, bank deposits, bank change runs or armed services… Nothing to rob… If labor costs savings offset any lost business it spreads through Yumi starting in high minimum wage areas and labor shortage regions…

One of the main ways imo this has become normalized in the UK is the so-called reliance by police detectives and private detectives on CCTV footage to solve crimes and murders.
