Thing is, I have nothing to get OVER. People like yourself in the party are THE problem You cost the NATION's people their birthright by throwing in with the people you seem to want to support around DeSantis. Yes, there is no perfect candidate. Accepting that reality I certainly would rather choose the candidates who don't have puppet strings attached to them like DeSantis does. And Nunez does. They are functionally incapable of ever being independent of the one's who brung 'em to the dance. And the ones doing the bringing to the dance are far more dangerous than Trump could ever be. Much like the saying about Capitalism, it's the worst economic system ever invented, except for all of the others. Trump is that guy for what he did during the pandemic. OWS is a nightmarish failure. The travel ban politicized infectious disease - just as pre-2020 pandemic plans warned - that unleashed totalitarianism - just as pre-2020 pandemic plans warned, "when nations blame other nations for the spread of respiratory disease like influenza, nation's leaders blame their populace for behaviors that have nothing to do wtih the spread of infections." Kind of like shit rolls downhill, scapegoating. Trump f'd that up BIGLY! America and the world needed an American president to say, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself" or "We will bear any burden, pay any price for the cause of liberty." I do give DeSantis credit for being one of the first leaders out there to call BS on the BS of the pandemic. And bringing in Ladapo. Mad props to him for that move! But most of his public pronouncements were empty calories, rhetorical flourishes with little actual impact. Schools, cruise lines, employers, hospitals all defied him, strung out legal challenges for so long that by the time the rulings came lives had been destroyed despite his EO's. Mostly sizzle, very little steak. Many half-hearted legislative protections have been passed under his administration. The ability of health officials, a future governor, to impose strict, harsh pandemic lockdowns, quarantines, forced injections remains on the books. Harsher than even NY and CA allow. And just waiting for the next public health emergency to be declared...that Nunez would be entrusted with!?!?! Empty calories. And, lo, those puppeteers he's let put strings on him!!! Don't trust them one bit. Not one stinking bit!
For whatever Trump did during the pandemic he never mandated a thing. He never deployed the police power of the state on the people to enforce anything. Governors did. Including DeSantis. I remember Florida life the first six-eight months of the pandemic emergency he declared. I remember being chased off the beaches by police in boats in Jupiter, just a few miles from Mar-a-Lago, playing hide-and-seek with them through the bushes and trees, being ordered to leave. I remember the fights with customers and store owners for not wearing a G-D placebo mask, symbols they demanded I display across my face to show I was politically aligned with them, without concern for my health, the poisonous petri dish they were telling me I had to inhale through, UNDER DESANTIS. Trump didn't make me do that. DeSantis did.
Pick my poison, I suppose. Trump messed up BIGLY. But everyone else in power messed up even more BIGLY. And their mess-ups directly harmed me. Trump's didn't. The only good thing about Trump's F-up was that it exposed who the totalitarians in power among us are. Who would use the police power of the state to punish people for making their own invidual health choices. Trump's bad decision had the net effect of letting the power-hungry dictators off leash enough to see them for what they are. And DeSantis showed his dictatorial instincts, too. And his selected replacement is the walking definition of a medical tyrant in waiting.
You don't see or care about these things. Which is the biggest problem of all among RED. They only see the enemies on the other team. They don't see the enemies in their own foxholes.
