Cell phone data gathered by Webb showed a long time friend of the Cheneys, who happened to be an arms dealer, possibly befriended Crooks at the range. Supposedly his car/vehicle was there at the event. Never any followup from the FBI though. Frustrating that nothing is being done.
The boosted police officer did a lot more than any other local or state police officer, except for Aaron Zaliponi. He drove to the scene on his his own (he was on traffic duty) and FOUND Crooks within two minutes of getting on the scene. He didn't have a hand free to pull out his sidearm when Crooks turned his rifle to face him, so he had no choice but to drop to the ground. He radioed in IMMEDIATELY that there was a man on the roof with a rifle about 30 seconds before shots started, but the fragmented communications made sure that the people around Mr. Trump never heard about it. I wonder why he ran around to the south side of the building with only his pistol out instead of getting his rifle, but he was clearly trying to do the right thing. A lot of the local cops seemed to be trying to avoid seeing Crooks.

When I was a police officer in the 1990s, I had to work with the Secret Service for the details of Presidents H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton/Prime Minister John Major. The SS had rigid protocols at that time, and it doesn't appear that they were followed at Butler, Pennsylvania.
