I have a loved one living in Honduras, so your detailed information about this election is very much appreciated.
My concern isn’t just personal; we ought to have a care about our beautiful “land neighbors” of the North and South American continents, and whenever possible, keep them oceans away from the scourge of forced collectivism (where the elites do all the collecting, and the complainers get all the scourging).
In my view, when President Trump renamed the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, he wasn’t just (properly) renaming a Gulf where the U.S owns 2/3 of the shoreline and provides virtually all of the protection.
In a sense, he was also both paying tribute to, and requesting alliances from, ALL of “The Americas” in keeping with the Monroe Doctrine and his “Trump Corollary”, set out so beautifully in his November 2025 National Security Strategy (“NSS”):
“We want to ensure that the Western Hemisphere remains reasonably stable and well-governed enough to prevent and discourage mass migration to the United States; we want a Hemisphere whose governments cooperate with us against narco-terrorists, cartels, and other transnational criminal organizations; we want a Hemisphere that remains free of hostile foreign incursion or ownership of key assets, and that supports critical supply chains; and we want to ensure our continued access to key strategic locations. In other words, we will assert and enforce a “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine…”
