Forty-seven years after the mullahs hijacked Persia and turned a great civilization into a terror factory, the bill has finally come due. Iran’s regime armed Hezbollah, Hamas, and every jihadist militia that ever pointed a rocket at Israel or an IED at American troops. Now the architects of that chaos are discovering a simple truth: actions have consequences. President Donald Trump didn’t blink. He acted. The strikes that eliminated the regime’s leadership and smashed its war machine may mark the beginning of the end for the Islamic Republic. The real hope is this—when the smoke clears, the Iranian people finally reclaim their country from the clerics.

Good post, Richard, but what you miss is the horrible dictatorship that preceded the Islamic revolution. The Shah was a massively corrupt despot who imprisoned, tortured, and executed numerous political opponents during his brutal totalitarian regime from 1941 to 1979. He was run out of the country by his own Iranian people for good reason. And, no, his son should not come in as Iran’s new leader despite his promotion on Fox News. He has not even been in Iran since 1978, has been living off of his father’s corruption money his entire life, and has no real support inside the country. If he ever returned to Iran, he would likely be killed in short order.

There’s no clear path for them to get their act together other than through mercy and cooperation. Trump said it right: “Lay down your weapons.”

Do you think it is possible for the Iranian people to rake charge? Not snark. I really hope they can

I do, if the remaining totalitarian structure lays down its weapons and submits - one way or another. The police state must be dismantled. I'm all for military strikes on the police arteries and aiding the popular takeover of state media. Trump said that this was the one chance for the Iranian people to rise up. He also said that the totalitarians who still oppose freedom will receive one thing - CERTAIN DEATH.

After "...from the clerics," you forgot to add "... for the CIA (again)."

Excellent summary.

Sorry, not buying. I don't think Iranian nuclear weapons and/or deterrence comes into it. That's all a smokescreen, a cover. As always, you need to follow the money, not the propaganda.

The intended purpose of the attack on Iran is to eliminate those in Iran who are in the way of normalization with Israel. Trump's GREAT Trust plan needs normalization in order to enjoy the security it needs to proceed (and to unlock billions in real estate profits for Netanyahu, Trump, Kushner, Witkoff and their Gulf Arab investment partners). Other considerations - of which there are, admittedly, many - are secondary.

So sorry to hear your comments on Iran. How far dies Parisian politics take you Robert?

I mean, to replace this theocratic dictatorship ? I thought only banker stooges use that word.

Was the shah’s regime a dictorship?

I’m not buying any of this anymore.

How come the push for a "Greater Israel" is never discussed, it's the dirty secret that might be the real reason Iraq, Syria and Iran were attacked. And Netanyahu just named Turkey as the next threat to peace, lol. Careful Bibi, they are all nuked up.

It’s so obvious to Virtuous humans with common sense: Iran & Turkey & their proxies. financiers, and fanatical fans are ever-metastasizing forces of EVIL on Earth. They need to be excised and/or neutralized. The sooner the better. Period.
