I stated before what happened. LBJ was involved in the cover-up, but not because of the ag contracts or because of Billie Sol Estes. It was because of Henry Crown's numerous illegal acts to procure lucrative government defense contracts for General Dynamics, Forth Worth. LBJ was implicated in some of these acts, and Crown knew LBJ would end the investigation.
Estes is a pathological liar, but was involved in some illegal activities, as was Malcolm Wallace. Wallace may have been the 2nd person on the 6th floor of the TSBD, but the shooter was a Cuban exile (CIA). James Angleton would not allow an amateur like Wallace to be a shooter. Forensics at the time of the assassination never claimed to have recovered Wallace's prints on the 6th floor, Roger Stone claimed in his book the prints were found. The Cuban exile hit Governor Connally, and the two men (maybe one was Wallace) fled out the back window on a previously erected scaffolding. They were in workmen uniforms to as not to arouse suspicion.
French assassin at the overpass--CIA recruited. He shot JFK in the throat, which is why JFK's hands go to the front of his throat. When shot in the back of the neck, one hand will go to the entry wound area, and not to the front.
Italian mafia at the fence of the grassy knoll (maybe New Orleans), also part of Angleton's triangulation of fire to wound JFK. This shot is not evident on the Zapruder film because Sam Giancana secretly sent a shooter to Dallas who shot from the storm drain with a hand gun and took almost half of the right side of JFK's head off.
With JFK wounded, and any evidence of where the shots came from to be suppressed, the CIA-FBI plot to have Oswald blamed and then "escape" to Cuba was foiled by Crown ordering fellow Chicago Jewish mafia Jack Ruby to silence Oswald. Crown was not privy to Angleton's and Hoover's scheme. Assassinating Castro was not enough, because the Bay of Pigs expected insurrection fizzled out. The CIA needed to invade Cuba, and Castro would see Oswald as a patsy (even on film), so Oswald could feed intel to the CIA.
Oswald was an excellent spy: he could hide in plain sight (most people still refuse to believe he had been a CIA asset); he was involved with Richard Nagell in important ops out of Atsugi Japan. He then was tasked to fake a defection to the Soviet Union and gather intel, a very important assignment because his reputation in the US would be as a traitor. Instead, the Soviet Union determined that Oswald was a fake defector, so he stayed a bit and married a colonel's daughter. He waltzed back into the US without even an interview, which never happened back then unless the person was special ops. He was set-up on his next assignment.
Crown wanted JFK assassinated in Chicago, but motorcade was cancelled after gunman spotted. LBJ was being dropped from the ticket in '64 because of the General Dynamics Forth Worth investigation, and possibly because of the high profile Billie Sol Estes case earlier that year (so much camera and news coverage that SCOTUS overturned the conviction in 1965). So JFK needed the electoral votes in Texas and had to make the trip.
Crown wanted JFK assassinated, JFK had denied Israel access to nuclear weapons, and the Mossad shooter was at the Dal-Tex building, another shooter that Angleton didn't know about. Crown figured the CIA would be blamed, even though their plan was to wound JFK. Zapruder, a Zionist, didn't want to film from the Dal-Tex building--his office was there--because it could capture on film that at least one shot came from the building. He left his camera at home, retrieved it when pestered by an employee, and took an employee to the area that he filmed from. The view from the Dal-Tex is perfect to film the motorcade, where he did film from is a lousy view, but perfect to capture the triangulation of fire without implicating the Mossad shooter. This scheme backfired from the storm drain shot, which occurred right after the limo driver hit the brakes (multiple eyewitnesses testified that the limo almost stopped and then sped up), so that JFK's head started forward before being thrown back and to the left.
For Angleton, this was not a problem, as there would be a head shot (instead of the grassy knoll shot at JFK's shoulder), the frontal throat shot, and the shot that hit Connally. The film would be sequestered.
However, the Mossad hit JFK in the back, shot again and missed the motorcade, almost striking James Tague in the foot. He was standing down by underpass by himself to wave so that JFK and Jackie would have to notice him as the car went by. Tague told me this at Dealey Plaza on Nov 22 1993, the 30th anniversary. Tague suggested that if this 4th shot had hit his foot instead of the concrete, there would have been no way only 3 bullets could be alleged.
Unable to explain the bullet that almost hit Tague--he got medical treatment for the concrete fragment that struck his face--a young lawyer named Arlen Specter suggested the single bullet theory. The problem was a bullet from behind does pass through the neck so that a person puts both hands up to the front of the neck. However, this problem was solved when the Zapruder film disappeared, except for stills printed by LIFE magazine, until Jim Garrison subpoena for Clay Shaw trial. It is known that this trial was the first time the general public became aware that JFK's head snapped back and to the left, so from that day forward the public refuses to believe one shooter in the 6th floor of the TSBD.
The rifle used, with a copper-cased bullet, shot from the grassy knoll, would not produce the effect that Hawk-Eye Works created in the altered Zapruder film. Hawk-Eye Works was tasked by the Secret Service to remove the limo slowing and speeding up, and to remove frames that show part of JFK's head well above his skull, because that is consistent with a hand gun shot from the storm drain.
Storm Drain was not in the picture this is a deflection. Good Comment though. You are correct about the horizontal shot to the throat. But the Grassy Noll shot could not have rendered the fatal shot as the trajectory would have been through the right temple and OUT the left back of JFK'd head. The Shot trajectory is pretty much a straight line from right temple area to out the RIGHT side of Jfks head. Same /similar would have been true from the storm drain. In fact it would have taken off the top of JFKs head not the occipital bone found later.
Likely the French mafia second shot or MORE likely from the LEFT Grassy Noll area where Tosh Plumtree ( CIA recovery pilot) and his team heard and felt a shot to their left.
Kennedy was facing left when the fatal shot came. The book "Enemy of the Truth" by forensic specialist and Crime Scene Analyst Sherry P. Fiester has the likely truth about where the head shot came from. The shhoter was likely Air Force sharpshooter Jack Lawrence.
Diane posted below and she is right.

IMO there were 5 teams and 11 shots in total.
